Ann Roberts, MCB Coordinator, has been living and working in Jefferson City for ten years, and for the Missouri State Library and Center for the Book for four. Prior to the move to Missouri, she lived in Mississippi, Louisiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Colorado, seeing the USA the expensive way.
Ann has a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from LSU, where she studied voice with world-renowned opera singer Martina Arroyo, and an MLS from the University of Pittsburgh, where she just studied. She has performed as a soloist with local organizations in each of the communities in which she has lived, including Baton Rouge Lyric Opera, Baton Rouge Little Theatre, the LSU Symphony Orchestra, Glenwood Springs Little Theatre, Midwest Lyric Opera, the Jefferson City Symphony Chorus, Lincoln University Opera Theatre and the Columbia Chorale.
Ann decided to pursue a library science degree many years ago at the urging of her husband, the current director of Wolfner Library for the Blind in Jefferson City, to “get a job”. Since obtaining the MLS, Ann has worked in historical societies, public libraries and the Missouri State Archives. She is a certified archivist and author of two published books on different aspects of library service, and is currently working on her third.
